N3878P was delivered to ALITALIA in February 1973 and was then brought by Douglas in December 1982 and reregistered as N3878P in April 1983 and then was leased to Aeromexico in December 1983. In May 1984 CIT purchased the aircraft and it was kept on lease to Aeromexico. After flying with various airlines this airframe was withdrawn from use in March 2002 and stored in Roswell New Mexico in June of the same year.
