Ford Granada Ghia MkII Series1 2.8i S - Strato Silver

The S specification Granada 2.8i looked superficially like a Ghia, sharing that model's TRX alloys and grille mounted spot lamps, but was more orientated towards spirited driving and featured stiffer variable rate springs, stiffer dampers, beefed up suspension bushes, and a thicker front anti-roll bar. These are exactly the sort of qualities loved by keen drivers such as motoring journalists or fictional law enforcement agents chasing old Jaguars through disused factories. The car modelled was part of Ford's press and publicity fleet and was featured in some very favourable road test reports before being loaned to Thames Television for the later episodes of a well-known TV detective series.
